The Society is 60 years old!
Society members and members of the public turned out in force on Saturday 16 May to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Society. There were talks, and Exhibition of objects from our Archive, historic films, and (for members only) a party. See our Events page for some photographs.
Our next outing to the Shuttleworth Collection and the nearby Swiss garden
We have a coach outing to the Shuttleworth Collection and the nearly Swiss Garden on Tuesday 23 June. The 6-hangar Shuttleworth Collection is a treasure trove of airworthy vintage aircraft from 1909-1950as well as historical agricultural and steam exhibits, veteran cars, classic motorcycles, bicycles, vintage buses and carriages. Outside the 9-acre Swiss garden is a unique example of a Regency garden in the 'Swiss Picturesque' or Alpine style.
The cost of the outing is £50 covering coach travel and tip, admission and tour fee, and a hot drink. The hangars and gardens are all on one level, with ramps where necessary and accessible paths.
Departure is from Goring and Streatley Station at 8.30am. To apply for a place, please fill in this form.
